Welcome to my world
I live in London with my two crazy cats, Phil and Grant. This is my online training journal as I will be running the British London 10km in July, and I hope you enjoy your visit!

About
I’m John, I’m 38 and I live in east London. I’ve been a Type 2 Diabetic since Christmas 2007, and since then have been working hard to get my weight down and under control, as that’s probably the main way I’ll manage to keep my blood sugars at a manageable level.
To achieve this, there’s been two main fronts.
I’ve started cooking a lot more than I used to do, and freezing the spare portions to re-use later. I’ve found that I quite like to cook, so I’ll include some of my favourite recipes here on my blog as time goes on. A word of warning though … the recipe for Chicken Curry will blow your socks off!
I’ve also found a fantastic personal trainer, Keli @ Body Mechanics who puts me through my paces about every six weeks and inflicts pain and agony. And all of this done with a smile and much encouragement. Keli, you’re a diamond!
But why have I started the blog?
Well I’ve decided to take part in the British London 10km run in July, so I’ve started training for that - everywhere I’ve read says it’s better to keep a journal while you’re in training so that you can see when it’s good and not-so-good.
So that’s a bit about me. Welcome to my world. I hope you enjoy your visits.
